Known as the Gateway to the High Plains, Pratt is located in south-central Kansas approximately 80 miles west of Wichita. A former railroad town, Pratt is a historic city at the intersection of U.S. Highway 54/400 and 281.
Pratt is home to the Pratt Army Airfield Base and Pratt Community College, plus 270 acres of parkland. The 117-acre Lemons Park is ideal for some outdoor time in Pratt – featuring ball fields, a nature path, a pond, and plenty of picnic spots. Golfers, try the 18-hole Park Hills Golf & Supper Club, or nine-hole courses like Green Valley and Seidel's.
Other attractions include the Vernon Filley Art Museum, the massive Ellis D. Kinney Swimming Pool, and plenty of fishing and hunting at Pratt Sandhills Wildlife Area and Texas Lake Wildlife Area.
