The county seat of Kiowa County, Greensburg is located at the intersection of US 54 and US 183 in southern Kansas. Greensburg was named for stagecoach owner D.R. "Cannonball" Green. Visitors are encouraged to check out Big Well – the world's largest hand dug well and adjacent museum – and the Kiowa County Historical Museum for a glimpse of Kiowa County and Greensburg history.
One of the "8 Wonders of Kansas Architecture," the Fromme-Birney Round Barn has stood since 1912 with its original sixteen-sided design.
