Located near the Verdigris River, Coffeyville is a thriving manufacturing community in southeast Kansas. Settled in 1869 by Colonel James A. Coffey as a Native American trading post, the city's commercial character has continued to grow throughout the years, evolving into the industrial locale it is today.

The city is home to many industrial companies, including Amazon's largest fulfillment center – the area's largest employer.
